Expertise and Caring Like Family.
We understand the stress that comes with caring for a family member or loved one with Alzheimer’s & dementia. At The Parkway, our staff trains with top dementia educators such as the Alzheimer’s Association to provide the highest quality care possible, giving you the relief you deserve and the peace of mind that comes with knowing your loved one is in good hands.
The cottage is structured to offer an engaging and supportive environment with comfort and ease of navigation in mind. By focusing on dignity, quality of life, and independence, we strive to ensure all residents feel respected and cared for as they age, regardless of what they remember today or tomorrow.

Memory Care Apartments
Memory care at The Parkway is absolutely not about restricting residents. Safety doesn’t mean confinement or monitoring. Instead, it is about the balance between residents having a private space to call their own while also being a part of the daily activity throughout the community. Our apartments were designed with seniors in mind, ensuring simple and immediate access to all the necessities of life.
Assigned Life Enrichment Coordinators
Our Life Enrichment Coordinators are specially trained team members who are paired with residents as a team. This allows a personal bond of trust to form, which allows for better, more attentive care. When Coordinators are more familiar with residents and have their trust, they are better able to detect small changes in personality and work to find solutions to unique health and wellness challenges that each resident may come across.
Security doesn’t mean restriction and monitoring. The memory care cottage is your loved one’s home. That’s why any safety systems are integrated in discreet ways that are unobtrusive. Additionally, our memory care cottage was designed for ease of navigation, promoting a safe environment where residents are free to participate in daily life.
Life Stations™ are areas sprinkled throughout the memory care community that are designed to resemble important aspects of a person’s life. They allow residents to engage with familiar activities and grant a sense of purpose as they do so. Not only that, but our amazing Life Enrichment Coordinators also create personalized Life Boxes that are specific to residents!
Because of the unique symptoms and behaviors caused by memory loss, it can seem like the only solution is to limit and restrict the senior’s activity. It can be frustrating when you want to keep your loved one active and out in the world but it feels like you’re only exacerbating everything. The Parkway has the amenities and the expertise to get it done and ease your concern.
Memory loss almost always goes hand in hand with diet problems. Loss of appetite is extremely common and it can have a devastating effect on health. That’s why a robust dining strategy is one of the core features of our memory care cottage. Designed to engage the senses and activate the appetite, our specialized dining program ensures proper nutrition and an excitement for meal time.
Alzheimer’s and other dementias can make once automatic grooming habits seem impossible. At The Parkway, we believe residents should have the dignity we all take for granted – looking and feeling presentable. In addition to ensuring that every resident enjoys the daily care of combing, brushing, and makeup, we include a weekly visit to our salon at no additional cost.
Life Enrichment Coordinators in the memory care cottage receive training that goes above and beyond what regular team members participate in. They learn how to implement the latest and most advanced care techniques in order to provide the best resident care.
