November 25, 2022
2022 has been a great year in which we’ve been able to hold many events and come together as The Parkway Senior Living Family. In a time when the world has been up and down with a global pandemic, The Parkway has been able to stand together in friendship.
Residents, staff, family, and friends have hunted Easter eggs together, celebrated our freedom, and spent all our birthdays and anniversaries together. With each holiday we have been able to hold an event, coming together for fun.
We’ve had so many great contributions from our Parkway staff throughout the last year. We promoted Lexi Mershon to Lead Care Partner, where she is teaching and training new hires and paving the way for smooth onboarding. Tina Burden was promoted to Lead Housekeeper. Our Dining Room Manager Lauren has been the glue that binds the culinary team together.
We introduced new department heads in several areas. Kira Maiorino took over the Memory Care Director position, Shawndra Banks was promoted to Director of Wellness, Amy Steinbeck moved to the Sales Director position, Robert Setina came on as our new Culinary Director, and Matt Bailey joined The Parkway as our Business Office Director.
Our solid, long-term Care Partners and Memory Care Support Partners were here to keep our residents safe and happy. Marylu, Val, Jason, Charonda, Glecel, and Stephany have been our grounding rocks in Assisted Living. Rose and Leah have been our tenured, steady Memory Care Support Partners.
We’ve had many opportunities this year to strengthen our relationships with some of our community partners. As members of The Parkway team, Fox Rehab has been with us at each event we held this year. Traditions Hospice ran music bingo for our residents and helped at some of our family fun events. Kindred has been a great partner to us and our independent living residents, holding a blood pressure clinic for us every week. Dr. Tadakamalla has even stepped in to help set up our events for success through donations. All these partners play such an important part in our residents’ and the Parkway’s success.
We have planned more outings within this next year to get The Parkway and our residents more involved with local schools. We are looking forward to many more intergenerational events with our residents and families, as well as an art show and car show in the spring.
