Throughout the year, The Parkway team focused on finding positive, motivational ways to move the community forward by aligning our efforts with our Word of the Year, Inspire. During department head meetings, we explored inspirational leadership through reading and research. We then applied those ideas to how we supported and guided our teams.
Staff were encouraged to build more personal and meaningful relationships by attending and participating in community events, rather than focusing only on required tasks. This approach allowed employees to feel inspired by residents. By learning life stories and forming deeper connections, staff enhanced the level of care they provided.
Teamwork and overall culture strengthened significantly during the year. Staff responded positively to transparent and uplifting communication from leadership, reinforcing the purpose behind choosing Inspire. At the same time, residents and staff formed closer relationships, further strengthening the sense of family that defines The Parkway.
We learned that inspiration comes from many sources. Getting to know one another, practicing transparency, and bringing positivity into daily interactions all support success. While person-centered care has always been central to The Parkway’s philosophy, our Word of the Year deepened our understanding of its impact. Inspiration is woven into everything we do as we serve others, and it will continue guiding our actions moving forward.
